Product Spotlight: Wallet Albums { Northern Virginia Photographer }

Though I'm not exactly a product photographer, I thought it would be a neat idea to have a series of blog entries with pictures of the neater products are available to my clients. One of the most wonderful products that I currently offer is a "wallet album." This little album can hold up to 10 images and spreads out like an accordion. It is magnetized so that the cover stays shut when stored. It is 3x3" in size, fits in the palm of your hand, and is perfect for brag books!

The cover is sturdy masonite with a custom design, also including pictures from the session. These little books can be purchased in sets of 3 and are included as part of my digital collection offerings.

A Beautiful Senior { Northern Virginia Senior Photographer }

This past weekend I had the pleasure of photographing a lovely young lady. She's a very talented singer and a member of a madrigal choir. This was something new to me, and my research prior to the session really helped set the frame of mind for the photo shoot. The dress was hand made by a friend of the family, and it was completely, out of this world, gorgeous. I'm a history buff, so the fabric and style of the dress really helped inspire me!

We plan to also meet up in the Spring to take portraits outdoors, hopefully in Old Town Manassas, so keep your eyes peeled for those in the coming months!

The entries are in, and now it's time to vote! Voting will commence today and end March 14th at 11:59pm! The winners will be announced March 15th in the morning. The poll to cast your vote is at the bottom of the page. You may vote once every 24 hours.

"Time for Spring" 2010 Fresh Faces Contest { Northern Virginia Photographer }

The Winter season is coming to a close, and soon we'll be greeted with green grass, cherry blossoms, flowers, and best of all: warm weather! To celebrate the coming of Spring, Georgia Nelson Photography is sponsoring a Fresh Faces Contest.

The Prizes

The first place winner will receive a free portrait session, a complimentary 8x10 print, and a $25 gift card to Old Navy to purchase a new outfit just for the session!

The second place winner will receive a $50 discount on a session and a complimentary 8x10 print.

The third place winner will receive a $25 discount on a session and a complimentary 5x7 print.

How to Enter

It's easy! To enter, simply email a picture of your child to the following email address by March 7th with your name and your child's first name:



If you have more than one child, you may make a single entry per child. Each entry may only have one child present in the photograph. Photographs will be posted (without names) to the blog for voting.

Voting and Contest Duration

All photographs will be posted to the blog and voting will commence on March 8th. The poll will be closed on March 15th at 11:59pm. Winners will be determined solely based off votes in the poll. You may share the poll with family and friends.

Contest Rules

• Children must be under the age of 18 in order to qualify
• Only one entry per child is allowed. Families with more than one child may make additional entries with a limit of 3 per family.
• Entries must be submitted by the child's parent or legal guardian.
  
• NO professional images are permitted for entry. This includes school photographs! Please only include shots that you or family members have taken of the child.
• The entrant must not have been photographed by Georgia Nelson Photography in the past 6 months.
• Entrants must be in the Northern Virginia area. At present, I cover Fauquier, Fairfax, Loudoun, and Prince William counties. If you are uncertain about your location, please feel free to contact me.
  
• Winners will be required to sign a model release, allowing the studio to use photographs from the session in the online portfolio, blog, and marketing materials.
• Standard print, album, and photography product prices apply for 2010 for any prints purchased from winning sessions. If you would like to know the studio's pricing, please feel free to inquire prior to submitting your entry.
  
• Winning entries MUST book their sessions by April 2nd, 2010 or prizes will be forfeited.

Losing the Fear: Indoor Shoots are FUN! { Northern Virginia Child and Family Photographer }

With the Winter storms, frigid temperatures, and blistering winds it has been difficult to pull ourselves out of the house for any decent photo shoots hasn't it? But truthfully, the Winter season is a great time to get those warm, comforting indoor shoots. They're inviting and personal, because it's all about YOU and your home!

Don't like the color of your couch or the wallpaper in your living room? No problem! I have a portable studio great for 1-2 people and definitely great for 2-3 children!
